About Punjab Public Guide
Punjab Public Guide is an independent website. We explain Punjab Government schemes clearly: who can apply, what to prepare, where the real application page is, and whether it is open today. We are not part of the Government of Punjab, the Government of Pakistan, any education board, bank or department, and we are not paid by any of them.
Why this site exists
When a new scheme is announced, search results fill up within days with copied posts, guessed deadlines and unofficial “registration” pages. Families who search for a laptop, a loan or a scholarship often land on a page that looks official but is not, and some are asked to pay a fee or share their CNIC with strangers. Even honest websites often repeat each other’s mistakes, because few of them go back to the official source. We started this site to fix that. Every claim in our guides can be traced to an official portal, department page or state media report, and every guide shows the date we last checked it. When something is not confirmed, we say “we don’t know yet” instead of filling the gap with a guess.
What we cover, and what we do not
We cover Punjab Government schemes for students, small businesses, housing, welfare, farmers, transport and jobs. We include federal programs only when Punjab residents can apply, such as the PM Laptop Scheme for Chromebooks or the PM Fuel Relief for motorcyclists, and we label them clearly as “Federal program”. We do not write separate guides for other provinces, and we do not publish a category until it has at least one checked guide.
Just as important is what we never do. We do not take applications, collect CNIC numbers or check anyone’s status, because we have no access to any government system. We do not charge fees or promise selection. We do not use government seals or logos as our branding; they appear only inside dated screenshots of official websites, so you can recognise the real page.
Who writes and checks the guides
Guides are written and checked by Musa Tariq, who also runs DLIMS Online, an independent guide to driving licences and traffic rules in Punjab. Read more on Musa’s author page. Our process is simple and the same for every guide. We start from the official portal or department page and read it in full. We open the portal ourselves on a computer and on a phone, take dated screenshots, and note anything confusing that a first-time applicant would face. We compare the official page with what news reports and other websites claim, and we label anything we could not confirm. Each guide then lists the official pages we read and the date we read them. Our full method is in the editorial policy, and you can report a mistake through the corrections policy.
Photos and screenshots
The large photos on this site, such as students in a classroom, a farmer beside a tractor or a family outside their house, are illustrative images created for this website. They show everyday scenes in Punjab, not real people from any scheme, not officials and not real events, and each one is labelled “Illustrative image” where it appears. Every screenshot of an official portal is different: it is a real capture of the government website, taken by Musa Tariq on the date shown in its caption, including the short “reels” that play step-by-step phone screenshots. We never edit what an official page shows, and we never submit forms with made-up data to take a screenshot.
How the site is funded
The site is free to read. It is paid for by advertising, from Google AdSense and possibly other advertising networks, and in some guides by clearly labelled affiliate links. This covers hosting and the time it takes to check portals every week. Ads are always kept apart from our content, they are never placed next to an official link or styled to look like an “Apply” button, and they never change what we write about a scheme. We do not accept payment from any department, bank, agent or political party to cover, praise or criticise a scheme. Our privacy policy explains how advertising cookies would work and how you can opt out. If you ever see an ad on this site that you think is misleading, please tell us.
How to reach the editor
The quickest way to reach us is the contact form, or email info@punjabpublicguide.com. Write to us if you find a mistake, if an official portal has changed since our last check, or if you want us to cover a Punjab scheme we have not yet checked. Please include a link to the official page if you have one. Remember that we cannot check your application, add your name to a list or speed up a payment, because we are not part of any government office. For your own case, use the official helpline listed in each guide, such as 0800-09100 for Apni Chhat Apna Ghar or 1000 for Maryam Ko Batayn.
