Petrol relief or an e-bike?
The two transport programs help different people. If you already ride a motorcycle, the petrol relief matters most: Punjab announced Rs 2,000 a month for registered motorbike owners in April 2026, and the federal PM Fuel Relief from September 2026 gives Rs 100 off each litre, up to 20 litres a month for bikes and rickshaws and 30 litres for cars up to 800cc. Register only through official channels such as helpline 1000. If you are a student who does not own a bike, the CM Punjab E-Bike Scheme offered electric scooties worth PKR 199,000 with a Rs 90,000 government subsidy, no down payment and about Rs 3,000 a month in instalments, but Phase 2 closed on 4 October 2026. Read both guides to know what is confirmed officially and what is still only reported. Both schemes also assume you can ride legally, so if you still need a licence, see our author’s bike driving licence guide for Punjab on DLIMS Online.
