PM Youth Laptop Scheme (HEC): status, eligibility and merit list
Federal laptops for students of public sector universities, run with HEC. Registrations for the current phase are closed; status and warranty services stay online.

The PM Youth Laptop Scheme is a federal program run by the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme with the Higher Education Commission (HEC). It gives laptops to students of public sector universities. Registrations for the current phase are closed, according to the official portal checked on 27 October 2026. The portal still offers application status, data correction and warranty services. This is a different scheme from the Chromebook scheme for Class 9 students (see the PM Laptop Scheme for Chromebooks).

How applications and selection worked
Students applied online on laptop.pmyp.gov.pk while the window was open. After online applications close, the system filters eligible students. Your university focal person then verifies your name, CNIC, department, degree level, semester and CGPA, and can correct or disapprove records. Eligibility is confirmed again at distribution: if you cannot produce documents and proof of performance, or you graduated before distribution, you will not get a laptop.
